St. Joseph’s South Hospital
is seeking a dedicated Acute Care Speech Therapist-PRN/Pool
to provide high-quality rehabilitation services in an acute care setting.
Acute Speech Therapist Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and strategies for continued recovery.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.
- Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to students and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Florida State License in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
