Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a hybrid Cardiac Cath and IR lab requiring 1+ year of cardiac cath experience and FL or compact state license.

Details
  • Hybrid lab performing both Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology cases
  • No neuro or structural heart cases performed
  • Short term acute care facility with 223 staffed beds
  • Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Average daily caseload of 25 per tech
  • On-call required on a rotation of one week on-call followed by two weeks off
  • Call team consists of 2 RNs and 2 Techs, with STEMI and IR call covered by the same team
  • No floating to sister facilities required, but candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
  • Uses Cerner EMR
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience required
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience required, including balloon angioplasty, PCI, stents, thrombectomy, coil embolization, filter placement, pacemaker/defibrillator device placement, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization
  • IR experience required, including stents, angioplasty, thoracentesis, peripheral and upper/lower extremity studies, abdominal and pelvic studies, genitourinary studies, vascular studies, and venous access
  • EKG experience required, including pacemaker rhythm interpretation, sinus node rhythms, and Holter monitoring
  • EP experience required, including baseline measurements, AICD insertion/programming, and pacemaker insertion
  • General scrub, monitor, and circulate skills required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • FL license or compact license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • ARRT Advanced Certification, ARRT-R, CCI RCES, CCI RCIS, CET, and Fluoro Permit preferred
  • Community hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions accepted
Additional Information
  • Perform procedural responsibilities including accurate monitoring, room circulating, and maintaining a sterile field while scrubbed
  • Responsibilities span cardiac cath lab, IR, and EP procedures as outlined in job requirements
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Smoke-free facility
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate, with certain allied specialties exempt from this rule
  • No RTO allowed in contract; any time off requests must be discussed directly with the manager during interview
  • Former permanent employees must wait at least 1 year before returning to this healthcare system as a traveler
  • Guaranteed hours apply only after the first call-off per pay period
