Maintenance Mechanic - RIV

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshoot, and diagnose plant or mine equipment in accordance with manufacturer/Mosaic standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on pumps, fans, turbines, gearboxes, piping, fabrication, conveyors, large rotating equipment, draglines, and dredges.
• Use hand tools, torches, welding equipment, pneumatic/electric tools, and precision measuring tools to complete repairs.
• Follow all PPE, Lock‑out/Tag‑out (LOTO), Hot Work, Hazardous Work, Confined Space, Water Safety, Line Breaking, and Safe Work procedures, daily PM inspections, and work order feedback.
• Actively participate in Pre‑Job Safety Meetings, Weekly Safety Meetings, and required annual training.
• Input work requests and documentation into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Assist in training and certification for operating boom trucks, large forklifts, and aerial lift equipment.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred;
  Associate’s Degree (Vocational, Millwright, Pipefitter, Boilermaker, Machinist, or Welding) preferred.
• Minimum 4 years industrial mechanical experience or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
• Phosphate industry experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter data accurately.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to follow all safety procedures and accept safety leadership.
• Physical ability to climb stairs, work at heights, and lift 25–50 lbs unassisted.
• Excellent visual acuity, hearing, and fine motor skills; able to read, write, and understand basic English.
• Must be able to safely operate mobile equipment (boom truck, aerial lift, forklift) and transport vehicles.
• Successfully complete pre‑hire exams and ongoing training (written tests and hands‑on assessments).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States and participation in the US E‑Verify program.

• Frequent outdoor work with temperature variations from below 32°F to above 85°F.
• Ability to work in tight or closed‑in spaces, rotate shifts, and perform overtime as required.
• Use of respirators and other fall‑protection equipment rated for 300‑lb loads.
• Must be able to perform essential functions without posing a direct threat to self or others.
