Job Summary
Concrete admixtures and cement grinding aids formulation, testing and troubleshooting, as CEMEX grows its admixtures business in the USA.
Job Responsibilities- Safely receiving, registering, preparing and testing materials. Analyzing and reporting results.
- Coordinating potential new/innovative technology transfers from other admixture business units.
- Identify market needs/ gaps in the product line and develop product portfolio to meet those needs.
- Working closely with raw material suppliers to identify alternative raw materials to optimize our product cost and performance, maximizing production and reducing manufacturing cost.
- Providing support as necessary in rolling out new products in the field.
- Working closely with the admixture plants and provide support to address production related issues, as necessary.
- Working closely with internal and external customers as well as technical service managers to troubleshoot field related issues and claims related to admixture product line. It may require onsite support.
- Improving efficiency of Tampa lab analytical testing including analytical equipment capability/reliability and efficiency completing requests. Admixture related lab equipment and facilities care, maintenance, cleaning, and ordering.
- Support other CTC personnel in their duties when needed.
- Presenting results of testing programs to internal and external customers in writing or orally.
- Bachelor’s in chemistry, chemical engineering, or equivalent science related degree.
- Al least 5 years of formulations experience in a major concrete admixtures company is required.
- No professional accreditation is required.
- Knowledge of concrete and cement chemistry.
- Ability to communicate in English. Spanish language knowledge is a plus.
- Analytical skills.
- Troubleshooting for both lab equipment and materials quality problems.
- Ability to work unsupervised and in small teams.
- Self-motivation and drive.
- Mostly indoors, in temperature-controlled environment.
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/ or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
