Position: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic ( South Lakeland Area & Riverview)

We are currently seeking Maintenance Mechanics. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will troubleshoot and repair as well as perform preventive maintenance (PM) of plant or mine equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturer/Mosaic’s standards in a safe and expedient manner. Ability to use hand tools, torches and welding equipment, pneumatic and/or electric tools, and precision measuring tools to make repairs or replace equipment which may include but is not limited to pumps, fans, turbines, gearboxes, piping, fabrication, conveyors, large rotating equipment, draglines, and dredges.

Perform and follow all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Pre Job Hazard Analysis (including Workplace Exam), Lock‑out Tag‑out (LOTO), Hot Work, Hazardous Work, Confined Space, Water Safety, Line Breaking, Safe Work, Daily PM Inspection, Work Order Feedback, General Equipment/Line Isolation permits or procedures, forms, or reports.

Actively participate in Pre‑Job Safety Meetings, Weekly Safety Meetings, and other required Annual Training. Actively participate in Work Flow by providing feedback on work execution roadblocks and successes. Input work requests into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as a result of work execution or identified defects.

Class A Maintenance Mechanic pay: $36.00+/hr.

Class B Maintenance Mechanic pay: $30.00+/hr.

What You’ll Do
  • Repair machinery and equipment following established job plans and troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
  • Perform emergency or “break‑in” repairs and lubricate/PM equipment and machinery.
  • Use hand signals with crane operators, rigging for lifts, examine disassembled parts, diagnose root‑cause failure, and operate overhead cranes.
  • After training and certification, operate boom trucks, large forklifts, and aerial man lifts.
  • Report issues that could impact the environment or employee safety.
What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred). Associate’s Degree in a vocational trade such as Millwright, Pipefitter, Boilermaker, Machinist, or Welding (preferred).
  • Resume required.
  • At least 4 years of related industrial mechanical experience or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
  • Phosphate industry experience is a plus.
  • Commercial driver’s license may be required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Ability to accept and follow all safety procedures.
  • Data entry capability.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment including boom trucks, aerial man lifts, and forklifts.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs, work at heights, handle 25–50 lbs unassisted, and maintain visual and hearing acuity.
  • Capacity to work safely in a heavy industrial environment with chemicals and transport vehicles.
  • Successful completion of pre‑hire exams and ongoing training, including written tests and hands‑on mechanical assessments.
  • Responsible for safe and compliant storage, inspection, and usage of tools and equipment as assigned.
Physical Work Environment
  • The work environment is frequently outdoors, with temperatures ranging from below 32°F to above 85°F.
