The Nature Camp Instructor is responsible for mentoring and helping to orient the Nature Camp Counselors to the District. Serves as a mentor for the Nature Camp Counselor (NCC) Observe and assists with Science Explorers in Nature (SEN) and Conservation Explorers (Con Ex) programs led by staff and learning from the Environmental Education Instructor (EEI). Guide team building and group activities under the direction of staff.
Initiates games during recess and outdoor breaks. Assists in preparing program materials for classroom, laboratory, and field experiences. Perform tasks that require walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching and sitting. Perform lifting tasks up to 50 pounds.
Must be at least 18 years of age. Preference given to candidates that were prior Nature Camp Counselors. One season of teaching or camp experience. Upon employment, must successfully complete and obtain certification in American Red Cross CPR and First Aid.
