Cybersecurity Engineer – BigID

Location: Riverwoods, IL

Salary: $60.00 USD Hourly – $65.00 USD Hourly

We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to design, build, and support secure, scalable enterprise applications and platforms. The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on experience across identity and authentication technologies, cloud security, automation, data platforms, and modern application architectures. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across infrastructure, application, and security teams.

• Strong scripting experience using Shell scripting and Python
• Object‑oriented programming knowledge using Java, Go, or similar languages
• Demonstrated ability to create robust automations using shell scripting
• Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies

• Extensive hands‑on SQL / PL‑SQL experience
• Experience working with modern data platforms such as Postgre
  
  SQL, Snowflake, and Amazon S3
• Reporting and data visualization experience using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools

• Strong hands‑on experience with Identity & Authentication technologies, including OAuth 2.0 / OIDC, SAML, Web Authn, PKI, LDAP
• Strong knowledge of API authentication mechanisms such as OAuth, JWT, and related standards
• Experience working with third‑party APIs and integrating secure API services
• Experience building and implementing API service architectures

• Hands‑on experience with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, Firewalls
• Experience with DLP and data classification tools, including working knowledge of regular expressions (Regex)
• Working knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST and ISO

• Strong understanding of cloud security, identity management, monitoring, and logging (e.g., Cloud Watch)
• Experience with applications running in Docker and Kubernetes/EKS environments
• Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Open Shift
• Hands‑on experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Experience designing systems for high availability, scalability, and performance monitoring

• Proficiency using CI/CD toolsets such as JIRA, Bitbucket / Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible
• Experience integrating security practices into CI/CD pipelines
