Position Overview The Document Controller is responsible for managing organizing and controlling all project documentation throughout the construction lifecycle This role ensures proper document flow version control and compliance with project specifications and industry standards
Key ResponsibilitiesDocument Management Establish and maintain document control systems and procedures
Receive log distribute and track all project documents including drawings specifications contracts and correspondence
Ensure proper document version control and maintain document registers
Implement and enforce document naming conventions and filing systems
Archive completed project documentation per company and regulatory requirements
Quality Control amp Compliance Review documents for completeness accuracy and compliance with project requirements
Coordinate document reviews and approvals with project stakeholders
Track document submissions reviews and approval status
Ensure adherence to document control procedures and industry standards
Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive project information
Communication amp Coordination Serve as liaison between project teams contractors consultants and clients regarding document matters
Distribute documents to appropriate parties according to distribution matrices
Coordinate document transmittals and maintain transmission records
Support project meetings by preparing and distributing relevant documentation

High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate's degree preferred8+ years of experience in document control, preferably in construction or engineering
Experience with construction project lifecycle and documentation requirements
Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Procore, Aconex, SharePoint)
Proficiency in establishing workflows on AconexISO 19650 certification or equivalent ISO quality certification
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Familiarity with CAD software and drawing management
Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001 advantageous)
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Problem-solving skills and proactive approach
Team collaboration and interpersonal skills
