Head of Modern Trade — FMCG (Confidential Client) | Riyadh, KSA
Salary: up to 55,000 SAR/month
eMagine Solutions is supporting a global FMCG leader (confidential) to hire a Head of Modern Trade for Riyadh. This is a senior commercial leadership role owning the Modern Trade agenda across key national and regional accounts, with full accountability for growth, profitability, and execution excellence.
What you’ll own- Lead the Modern Trade strategy across KSA: growth plan, channel priorities, customer segmentation, and execution roadmap
- Full P&L ownership for Modern Trade: revenue, margin, trade investment, and forecasting accuracy
- Drive joint business plans (JBPs) with top-tier retailers and buying groups
- Negotiate annual trading terms, listings, promotions, and visibility—while protecting profitability
- Lead and develop a high-performing Modern Trade team (KAMs / sales / category interface)
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Category, Supply Chain, Finance, and Demand Planning to deliver OTIF and in-store excellence
- Own the rhythm of the business: weekly performance reviews, scorecards, and corrective actions
- Strong, sustainable growth with disciplined trade spend and clear ROI
- Improved share of shelf, distribution, and promotional effectiveness across priority retailers
- Forecast accuracy and supply alignment that reduces lost sales and improves service levels
- Senior-level retailer relationships built on credibility, data, and consistency
- Proven Modern Trade leadership experience within a top-tier FMCG environment in KSA/GCC
- Strong track record managing national key accounts and complex retailer negotiations
- Commercially sharp: understands trade investment, mix, margin, and pricing architecture
- Confident leading teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Data-led operator: comfortable with dashboards, forecasting, and performance cadence
- Arabic and English preferred (depending on customer set)
- High-impact leadership seat with a globally recognised FMCG business (client confidential)

The ideal candidate brings deep Modern Trade leadership within a top-tier FMCG environment, with a proven track record owning national key accounts in KSA and consistently delivering profitable growth. They are a strong commercial operator who understands pricing architecture, trade terms, and trade investment ROI, and can negotiate confidently with senior retailer stakeholders while protecting margin. They combine strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, run a tight performance cadence through forecasting and data‑led decision‑making, and influence cross‑functional teams across marketing, category, supply chain, and finance.
They also demonstrate clear people leadership, developing high‑performing teams and setting standards around accountability, follow‑through, and in‑store excellence. GCC market knowledge is important, and strong English is essential, with Arabic a plus depending on the customer set.
