Key Accountabilities & Activities
  • Market Analysis
  • Identify new market opportunities and assess potential risks and challenges.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive advantages.
  • Analyze competitor strategies, strengths, and weaknesses to inform the company's positioning and differentiation.
  • Strategy Development
  • Develop clear and actionable market entry and expansion plans.
  • Evaluate risks and create contingency plans to mitigate potential challenges.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Relationship Management
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, industry influencers, and government agencies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective relationship management and client satisfaction.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Negotiation
  • Identify and pursue partnership opportunities that support business development and market expansion objectives.
  • Utilize effective negotiation tactics to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Conduct comprehensive research on potential clients and partners before negotiations.
  • Financial Evaluation
  • Conduct financial analysis and evaluation of business opportunities, including revenue projections, return on investment, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with finance and executive teams in budgeting and resource allocation for business development initiatives.
  • Technical Evaluation
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams to facilitate smooth collaboration.
  • Collaborate with internal technical experts to evaluate the feasibility of meeting client requirements.
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of the technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Assess the level of customization required for technical solutions and estimate associated costs.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth
  • Analyze existing client portfolios to identify upsell opportunities.
  • Support revenue growth by identifying, assessing, and pursuing business development opportunities.
  • Contribute to developing value propositions that address client needs and support Elm’s growth objectives.
  • Business Opportunity Development
  • Translate market insights and client needs into viable business opportunities and proposed solutions.
  • Coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders to support opportunity assessment and development.
  • Prepare inputs, analysis, and recommendations to support decision-making on business development initiatives.
  • Policies, Processes & Procedures
  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

Job Specifications Academic And Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Years And Nature Of Experience
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in business development, strategic partnerships, market expansion, or related fields.
