Pricing Lead – KSA About Astra Zeneca

AstraZeneca is a global, science‑led, patient‑focused biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the discovery, development, and commercialisation of prescription medicines for some of the world’s most serious diseases. But we’re more than one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.

Role Summary

AstraZeneca is seeking an experienced and visionary Pricing Lead based in Saudi Arabia to set the strategic direction for pricing governance, champion pricing submissions to Health Authorities, and shape centralized pricing activities through GHC. As the senior pricing authority in the market, this role holds ultimate accountability for the integrity and strategic impact of all pricing operations across regulated, non‑regulated, and tender products, while fostering a culture of compliance, innovation, and cross‑functional partnership.

As Pricing Lead, you will own the end‑to‑end strategic pricing agenda for AstraZeneca in Saudi Arabia. You will set the vision for pricing across the full product lifecycle — from initial submissions through renewals and appeals, ensuring full compliance with Health Authorities and GHC frameworks. Beyond operational excellence, you will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leadership, shaping market access and commercial strategies through data‑driven insights and a deep understanding of the Saudi pricing landscape.

What

you’ll do
  • Define and own the end‑to‑end Health Authorities pricing strategy, overseeing the preparation, submission, and follow‑up of all pricing files including initial pricing, renewals, variations, and appeals.
  • Set the strategic direction for centralized pricing submissions through GHC, ensuring coherent alignment and consistency across all GCC markets.
  • Establish and champion robust internal pricing governance frameworks for all product types (regulated, non‑regulated, and tender), setting standards and accountability across the organization.
  • Own the issuance and validation of price certificates required for regulatory and business submissions, ensuring quality and compliance at every stage.
  • Serve as the internal authority on AstraZeneca’s global and local pricing governance frameworks, driving adherence and proactively identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the highest standards of pricing data integrity within global pricing systems, establishing processes for audit readiness and long‑term consistency.
  • Generate and communicate strategic analytical insights on product‑level pricing and market dynamics, directly shaping business and access strategies at a senior level.
  • Act as a strategic partner and thought leader across Regulatory, Market Access, Finance, and Commercial functions, influencing pricing strategy and value communication at the highest levels.
  • Build and sustain senior‑level relationships with Health Authorities and GHC stakeholders, representing AstraZeneca’s pricing interests with authority and credibility.
  • Lead advanced scenario modeling and pricing simulations, translating complex analysis into clear strategic recommendations for business cases and long‑term planning.
  • Champion the company voice in regional and global pricing forums, influencing best practice development and driving continuous improvement across the network.

Only Applications in KSA will be considered.

Essential for the role
  • Minimum 8-10 years of extensive experience in pharmaceutical pricing with deep expertise in Health Authorities and GHC pricing systems, ideally in a senior or lead capacity.
  • 3-5 years of Authoritative knowledge of Saudi pricing regulations, governance requirements, and reimbursement frameworks, with a track record of influencing outcomes.
  • Proven ability to lead complex tender pricing processes, high‑stakes commercial submissions, and strategic appeals.
  • Advanced command of pricing systems and analytical tools, e.g. Excel, global pricing databases, with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex data to senior audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross‑functional initiatives and influencing senior and executive stakeholders across functions and geographies.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking,…
