Freelance Art Director

About the role

Monks Middle East is seeking a Freelance Senior Art Director based in Riyadh to join our ever‑growing creative & content team. The role involves designing, creating, manipulating and tailoring graphics, images, sound, animation, video and text to develop integrated multimedia for social‑first content that engages audiences across client social feeds. The candidate will combine design skills with technical knowledge to produce meaningful, striking, fit‑for‑purpose designs across multimedia formats.

Minimum experience:

4 years. Arabic and English fluency is mandatory.

The Senior Art Director will interpret client briefs, storyboard concepts, produce digital collateral, create short videos, and shape the visual approach for our clients. The role requires comfort with basic shooting equipment for live coverage, interviews, social content, and video creation—including filming and photography—and proficiency in related equipment and software. The senior art director will also develop and post‑produce audiovisual content that is fit for feed and ensure all designs align with project objectives and client expectations.

• Work as part of the social content development team alongside designers, copywriters, and AV specialists to create content aligned with the social brand strategy.
• Shape motion‑graphics direction within the team, inspiring and collaborating with AV to produce top‑class content.
• Conceive creative audiovisual ideas based on objectives, and actively participate in the development and post‑production of feed‑ready content.
• Produce high‑quality deliverables such as motion‑graphics guidelines and innovative techniques usable across the team.
• Bring passion for turning the ordinary into extraordinary through movement.
• Ensure all designs meet project objectives and client expectations.

The essentials:

• Experience as a multimedia designer at a high, international level.
• Fluent in both English and Arabic (written and spoken).
• Advanced knowledge of motion‑graphic design and video editing, with basic shooting hardware and software skills.
• Experience with color correction and audio editing.
• 2D and 3D animation are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, able to create content that exceeds limitations.
• Creative problem‑solving skills to tackle unexpected challenges.
• Keep up‑to‑date with the latest motion‑design trends and innovations.
• Bring Arabic market insights to all creative content produced.
• Meticulous process with an eagle eye for detail.
• True team player with likable social skills.
