Position: Accountant (Saudi National)

The accountant is responsible for managing and processing payment transactions as well as handling general accounting tasks within the organization.

This role ensures timely and accurate payments to vendors, maintains financial records, and supports overall accounting operations in alignment with company policies and compliance standards. also responsible for in maintaining and updating the general ledger, which is the central repository for all financial transactions within the company and ensures that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and classified.

Key Responsibilities Payment Processing
  • Manage and execute payment transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review payment requests for completeness and compliance.
  • Record accounts payable invoices accurately in the accounting system.
  • Ensure proper recording and documentation of related party transactions.
Expense Recording
  • Record all expenses, including petty cash and expense claims, in accordance with company policies.
General Ledger Management and Financial Closing
  • Record and reconcile general ledger transactions related to payments and expenses.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash balances and identify discrepancies.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and GL account ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries.
  • Perform account reconciliations and analyses.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances and to identify discrepancies in accounts.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with other finance department teams to support overall department goals and objectives.
Qualifications (Education & Certifications)
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree i.e. Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or similar.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Oracle accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting, finance or any related field role.
  • Experience in basic financial controlling practices and principles, with exposure to different sectors being beneficial.
  • Experience in the Middle East is a plus.
Knowledge of
  • Financial reporting and Accounting standards (IFRS).
  • Financial controls and governance.
  • Finance operations and respective processes.
  • Familiar with Tax regulatory framework in KSA.
