Job Description – Planning & Budgeting Manager
Department:
Finance Department
The Planning & Budgeting Manager is responsible for leading budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and cost control activities for construction and fit-out projects. The role works closely with project management and operations teams to ensure financial efficiency, budget compliance, and accurate reporting aligned with company objectives.
Responsibilities- Develop annual budgets, project forecasts, and financial plans for construction and fit-out operations.
- Monitor project costs, expenditures, cash flow, and budget utilization.
- Analyze financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities across projects.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, variance analysis, and management presentations.
- Coordinate with project managers, procurement, estimation, and finance teams to ensure budget accuracy and control.
- Support tendering and project feasibility studies from a financial planning perspective.
- Establish and improve budgeting procedures, cost control systems, and financial planning processes.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and contractual obligations.
- Assist senior management in strategic financial decision-making and business planning.
- Monitor project profitability and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, or project finance within the construction or fit-out industry.
- Strong understanding of project costing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Experience in construction and fit-out financial operations.
- Knowledge of project planning tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project is an advantage.
- CMA, CPA, PMP, or similar certification is preferred.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
