About the Role
Grade Level (for internal use): 11. The Private Market Valuations team is a market leader in supporting our clients with independent valuations of illiquid debt and private equity investments. Since inception, the department has been among the fastest‑growing areas within S&P Global; our analyst teams in London, New York, Dallas, Singapore, and India serve over 300 institutional investors across the globe covering notable names in start‑up, growth, mature and distressed spectra.
Responsibilities- Perform valuations on a wide range of illiquid investments across industries and geographies using accepted and relevant approaches and theory.
- Present analyses and conclusions, including written reports, and handle valuation queries from clients.
- Contribute to the design and enhancement of financial models used to perform valuations.
- Train and coach junior analysts.
- Work with management to build and maintain client relationships.
- Attend relevant industry events to broaden knowledge and experience within the alternative asset industry.
- Qualified accountant or CFA charter holder (or in process of obtaining qualification).
- Preference for an individual who already holds a TAQEEM (Business Valuation) License, or is in the process of obtaining one.
- Multiple years’ experience constructing and reviewing valuation models including DCF, comparable company/bond, PWERM, and option pricing models.
- Experience managing delivery of valuations and providing responses to client challenges.
- Knowledge of software packages including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to adapt and support new business opportunities.
