Bank Financial Officer
The Bank Financial Officer is responsible for managing the organization’s financial and administrative operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.
Responsibilities- Plan, direct and control all financial accounting, controlling and reporting activities of the organization.
- Prepare budget forecasts and associated rate analysis along with other financial statements for strategic decision making.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new investments.
- Present business performance to the board and prepare board reports.
- Ensure efficient banking arrangements with leading banks and monitor cash flow and loan repayments.
- Maintain accurate financial recording, reporting, consolidation, and account finalization to detect fraudulent transactions and minimize variances.
- Review business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to provide financial statements and MIS reports to management.
- Examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting standards.
- Prepare customer agreements in line with the company credit policy.
- Approve supplier payments, sign checks and conduct frequent stocktaking and procurement checks.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Implement and enforce strict controls and effective procedures in accounting, finance and operational management to comply with statutory obligations and local laws.
- Respond to audit queries and ensure audit recommendations are fulfilled.
- Represent the company to governmental organizations and handle all administrative aspects.
- Process work permits, labor law compliance and renewals for staff.
- Provide on‑job training to administrative and finance staff to maximize output.
- Interview, hire and conduct performance appraisals for new staff.
- Oversee business administration to ensure smooth operation and eliminate obstacles while ensuring transparency and efficient resource utilization.
- Consult with department managers to resolve business difficulties and improve processes.
- Maintain smooth resource flow within the department and streamline processes to improve workflow efficiency.
- Develop and preserve cooperative relationships with clients, investors, governmental authorities, vendors, statutory auditors and other third parties.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications such as Practical Accounts or equivalent.
- Extensive experience managing financial and administrative functions in a corporate or banking environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and local statutory regulations.
- Proven ability to prepare budgets, forecasts, financial analyses and strategic reports.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to conduct feasibility studies, manage cash flow, and oversee procurement and stocktaking processes.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate reporting and fraud detection.
- Experience handling audits, responding to audit queries, and implementing audit recommendations.
