To evaluate the portfolio and to provide work with the team, so as to minimize potential losses to the Bank, maximize recoveries and to ensure the development of judicious solutions that will assist clients to overcome their financial difficulties.

Areas Of Responsibility

Implements approved departmental policies and strategies processes, procedures and provides instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.

  • Day-to-day operations

Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the department to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.

  • Assessment of Client Portfolio Status

Assesses the Bank’s corporate portfolio and analyses the information and reports provided from operations, so as to evaluate the status of the corporate loans.

Ensures that the accurate rating of the corporate portfolio is applied according to the Bank’s standards, so as to identify and determine the non-performing loans, i.e. loans in ratings RB 21, 22, and 23.

Provides projections of non-performing loans, so as to support the accurate evaluation of portfolio’s status and health and the loans that might be under Special Assets – Large Corporates.

Liaises and coordinates with Business Heads, for the effective and proactive management of their portfolio.

  • Development of Provisions

Controls the accurate analysis of the allocated portfolio, identifying the nature and characteristics of their financial problems and proceeds to the projections of the provisions required, so as to comply with Bank standards and Basel regulations.

  • Management of non-Performing Loans

Support the effective relationship management of the allocated portfolio and participate in the development of initiatives and payment settlements that will assist clients to overcome their financial difficulties and comply with their obligations towards the Bank.

Contribute to the development of feasibility studies and credit proposals for the evaluation of client’s current status and the implementation of viable solutions for the effective management of the non-performing loans, negotiating terms and drafting term sheets for key borrowers, when required.

Ensures that all collaterals and securities have been identified and used in the management of the allocated portfolio, so as to comply with credit risk requirements and protect Bank’s interest.

Cooperates with all relevant parties, i.e. Corporate Banking, Collections, Legal, for the effective management of clients with non-performing loans and the collection of debts and bank’s claims using all legal measures.

Ensures the development of analytical reports regarding the allocated portfolio according to IFRS 9, in order to provide a clear view to management of the non-performing loans and the bad debt status.

Analyses the allocated portfolio characteristics, identifies the reasons for loans bad performance and provides recommendations for the improvement of risk policy.

Ensures sound credit evaluation techniques, improvement of credit review process and making recommendation and guidance accordingly.

Advises Senior and Executive Management of any adverse developments that may affect the quality of the assigned segment portfolio and/or bank interests.

Monitors the changes in the regulations and standards set by the Saudi Central Bank and proposes changes in the credit review process to achieve compliance without any exception.

Evaluates and updates the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) related to their segments.

Reviews the effectiveness of the rating models and tools and proposes improvements taking into consideration the IFRS9 effect on each credit application, so as to increase efficiency and effectiveness of credit review.

Interacting with a number of internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, front line business & credit officers, colleagues within Special Assets, internal & external legal counsels, financial advisors, Bankruptcy Trustees, the Bank credit’s underwriting authorities, working groups/coordinating committees…etc.

Communicate with the Sanctioning Authority members to respond to any queries regarding their segment portfolio customers.

Should have excellent relationship with restructuring specialists in other Banks, FIs, NBFCs, Bankruptcy Trustees at various levels.

Represents the function and actively contributes in various committees/meetings (internal) as applicable and per authority level, in order to ensure relevant matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or any other relevant field.
  • Master’s degree is preferable
  • 4 - 6 years of experience in corporate restructuring/special assets and experience in the corporate credit field
