The global HSBC Infrastructure Finance (HIF) team, part of Global Corporate and Institutional Banking, comprises Infrastructure Finance (IF) and Export Finance (EF) product verticals. HIF offers financing solutions to corporates, financial sponsors, institutions and governments across sectors such as Energy Transition, Infrastructure/Digital Infrastructure, Transportation, Power and Utilities, Renewables, and Petrochemicals. The team provides product-agnostic advice on financing, capital structure and structured debt markets, and handles origination and execution of infrastructure, project and export finance lending mandates.

With over 160 employees in 14 countries, key hubs include London, Riyadh, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore and New York. The IF team in Saudi Arabia focuses on advising KSA-based and international clients on infrastructure finance debt, PPP/BOOT procurement, and supporting HSBC Group and Saudi Awwal Bank in balance sheet deployment.

Seeking a highly motivated Associate to join the Riyadh IF team. The role will originate, advise, structure and execute infrastructure finance transactions across large-scale projects in KSA and support the Dubai team. The position reports to the Co-Head of Infrastructure Finance, MENAT region.

• Originate and structure infrastructure financing advisory and debt arrangements in KSA.
• Support execution of infrastructure financing mandates in collaboration with product and coverage teams and SAB.
• Collaborate across multi-functional teams to deliver HSBC’s product range and maximize cross-sell opportunities.
• Conduct industry and company-specific research, share market trends, and provide insights to relevant teams.
• Prepare deliverables such as pitch books, letters of interest, term sheets, mandate letters, due diligence reports and facility documentation.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders on transaction-specific matters (legal, compliance, risk, sustainability, markets).
• Assist the team with reporting and information requests.
• Mentor and train junior resources through knowledge sharing and delegation.
• Originate syndication and distribution of KSA-related infrastructure finance transactions.
• Negotiate facility documentation with clients and counter parties in close liaison with related teams.
• Ensure regulatory and internal compliance for all transactions.

• Hold a bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business, Finance or Engineering. CFA charter considered an advantage.
• Over 3 years of experience with a track record in project/infrastructure financing transactions; infrastructure advisory experience acceptable.
• Experience with KSA or wider Middle East region transactions and knowledge of the local infrastructure financing market.
• Experience in Energy Transition sectors and loan distribution valued.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including presentation skills in English.
• Strong analytical skills and commercial orientation across various debt products (loans, bonds, ratings, derivatives).
• Project management skills with capacity to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure.
• Proficiency in Arabic considered an advantage.
