Overview
EY's Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) practice is an advisory unit that provides risk management support to banks, insurers, and asset managers. Our team includes individuals who have industry, client, and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management, and technology professionals. We are seeking a senior professional with market risk experience in the banking industry or advisory services.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic sourcing services related to regulatory compliance, Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), corporate governance, enterprise risk management, internal controls, and internal audit to clients in the financial services (FS) industry.
- Assist organizations to maintain effective and efficient controls in order to manage organizational and strategic risks.
- Contribute to advisory services in FCC, including target operating models, business processes, and internal controls that comply with regulatory requirements while maintaining a positive customer experience.
- Deliver technical aspects of the FCC system relevant to CDD, AML monitoring, and payment screening.
- Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to improve transaction monitoring and sanction screening defenses and conduct transaction system optimization using advanced analytical algorithms to identify trends.
- Assist in managing the financial aspects of engagements by tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders.
- Establish, maintain, and strengthen internal and external relationships.
- Actively contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives, consistently driving projects to completion and ensuring high quality work.
- Good understanding of economic or market issues and the ability to interpret their impact on clients.
- Contribute to support and deliver regulatory compliance engagements related to FCC, corporate governance, risk assessments, enterprise risk management, and internal controls.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Leverage technology to continually learn, improve service delivery, and maintain leading-edge best practices.
- Strong presentation skills and proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Build an understanding of solutions, share knowledge, and draw on subject matter specialists as needed.
- Self-motivated with energy and drive.
- Effective project management and teamwork skills.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in Financial Crime Compliance (AML/CFT, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption and Fraud) within banks, insurance, asset management, or a large public accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of regulator expectations.
- Knowledge of AML regulations and environments in other jurisdictions and practical industry experience.
- Knowledge of global risk and regulatory environment, especially developments in the FCC space.
- Graduate degree in law, finance, or commerce preferred.
- Demonstrated strong planning, execution, and reporting skills.
- Analytical skills, specifically the ability to assess and decompose financial services industry processes with a risk and control focus.
- Exposure to the MENA region is an advantage;
Arabic proficiency is a must. - Good English communication skills.
- Experience in FCC-related technology projects such as payment screening, transaction monitoring, or customer risk rating systems, preferably at a large, complex financial institution.
- Understanding of financial regulations and laws related to financial crime, such as OFAC sanctions.
- Track record with a leading consulting firm in the MENA region.
