Job Purpose

Takes full responsibility of overall management of Overseas Tax. Plan, develop, execute and monitor its activities and related systems by optimum resources at efficient cost. Deliver as per company quality standards. Manage the risks and opportunities to bring the department to a further step.

Key Accountability Areas Tax Law Knowledge
  • Knowledge of domestic and international tax laws, including corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other related regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply tax laws to various business scenarios.
  • Ensures compliance across different jurisdictions.
Tax Compliance and Reporting
  • Expertise in preparing and reviewing tax returns, managing tax filings, and ensuring timely tax payments and reporting.
  • Oversees accurate preparation and filing of tax returns for subsidiaries.
  • Monitors deadlines and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions.
Tax Planning and Optimization
  • Ability to develop tax‑efficient strategies and optimize the group’s tax position, including transfer pricing, tax credits, and incentives.
  • Identifies opportunities to optimize tax positions across subsidiaries.
  • Works closely with finance teams to implement strategies.
Transfer Pricing Management
  • Understanding transfer pricing regulations and ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
  • Implements and oversees transfer pricing documentation and compliance.
  • Works with external advisors to manage intercompany pricing strategies.
Risk Management and Audit Support
  • Managing tax risk and supporting internal and external audits, including responding to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Identifies potential tax risks and implements mitigation strategies.
  • Supports audit processes and ensures readiness for tax inspections.
Cross‑border Taxation and International Tax
  • Understanding of cross‑border tax issues, double taxation treaties, and compliance in multi‑jurisdictional environments.
  • Manages tax compliance in different countries where subsidiaries operate.
  • Understands treaty benefits and withholding tax obligations.
Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, legal) and external advisors (e.g., tax consultants, auditors).
  • Communicates complex tax matters effectively to non‑tax professionals.
  • Collaborates with finance and legal teams to align on tax strategies.
Analytical Skills
  • Strong analytical abilities to review tax data, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Identifies and addresses potential errors or issues in tax filings.
  • Provides thorough analysis of tax‑related data and implications.
Technology and Tax Automation
  • Familiarity with tax compliance software, automation tools, and ERP systems for efficient tax reporting and filing.
  • Leverages tax technology for reporting and compliance.
  • Stays updated on emerging tax technology trends.

    • Ability to recruit, recognize and cultivate high performers and expose them in order to create a robust second line of management.
