Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) is seeking a Senior Treasury Specialist in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to manage liquidity, trade finance, and risk mitigation for our integrated mining and refining operations. This role supports the secure movement of capital and precious metals across our downstream refining and upstream exploration assets. The position ensures compliance with SAMA regulations and optimizes working capital to fund strategic growth initiatives aligned with Vision 2030.
The Senior Treasury Specialist will report directly to the Finance Manager and will play a key role in safeguarding SGR’s financial assets and enhancing treasury efficiency. This position directly impacts the company’s ability to finance dore acquisitions and expand refining capacity through prudent cash management and banking relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Treasury Specialist will deliver value through the following core responsibilities:
Cash Flow ForecastingThe role prepares and maintains accurate 13-week cash flow forecasts that integrate refining production schedules and exploration expenditure plans.
Trade Finance ExecutionThis position structures and manages letters of credit and bank guarantees to facilitate the import of dore bars and export of LBMA-grade bullion.
The specialist executes foreign exchange hedging strategies to protect profit margins against currency fluctuations in procurement and sales contracts.
Bank Relationship ManagementThe role maintains strategic partnerships with local and international banks to secure competitive financing terms and ensure liquidity availability.
Regulatory ComplianceThis position ensures all treasury activities comply with SAMA anti-money laundering guidelines and internal audit requirements for precious metals.
The specialist coordinates monthly reconciliations between physical bullion inventory records and treasury ledger accounts to prevent discrepancies.
Treasury ReportingThe role generates weekly liquidity reports and dashboard metrics for senior management to support decision-making on capital allocation.
Process ImprovementThis position identifies and implements automation opportunities in bank reconciliations and payment processing to enhance operational efficiency.
Audit SupportThe specialist provides comprehensive documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors during periodic treasury reviews.
Team SupervisionThe role guides junior treasury analysts in daily transaction processing and ensures adherence to delegated authority limits and segregation of duties.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics from an accredited university.
- At least 7 years of experience in corporate treasury, with preference for candidates from mining, commodities, or industrial sectors.
- Proven track record in managing trade finance instruments including letters of credit and bank guarantees.
- Strong technical knowledge of foreign exchange markets and hedging instruments such as forwards and options.
- Detailed understanding of Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) regulations regarding anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing.
- Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling, scenario analysis, and dashboard creation.
- Professional certification such as CTP, CFA, or ACCA is strongly preferred.
- Fluency in English is mandatory, with Arabic language skills considered an advantage for local regulatory interactions.
