Getting stuck into investment manager searches, asset allocation studies, and portfolio construction reviews — not just watching from the sidelines.

Helping build client‑facing materials: analysis, commentary, performance reporting, and advice, done properly and to deadline.

Running Mercer's own proprietary tools to analyse asset allocations and investment managers, and actually thinking critically about what the results mean.

Liaising directly with investment managers, record keepers, and custodians to chase down or clarify client data.

Backing up our investment consultants as they manage client and prospect relationships.

Pitching in on internal projects and firefighting ad‑hoc questions from clients, managers, auditors, and colleagues.

Holding your own in conversations with clients and colleagues at every level - confidence included.

A genuinely paid, 6‑month internship - you'll be working like an analyst, not just observing one.

A dedicated mentor in your corner for support and guidance.

Structured, formal training to build real skills, not just tick a box.

A potential launchpad into a full‑time role at Mercer.

A bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, Economics or something in that family.

Solid analytical instincts - comfortable with numbers and with nuance - plus a good working knowledge of Excel.

Some exposure to data analysis and putting together clear, sharp presentations.

Strong communication skills, spoken and written - you'll be talking to clients, not just crunching numbers alone.

Genuine curiosity and an appetite to keep learning new tools and skills.

The flexibility to adapt fast when deadlines shift or client needs change (because they will).

Sharp organisational skills and an eye for detail that doesn't let things slip.

Working towards your CFA designation.
