Essential Responsibilities and Duties- Perform all basic RCS modalities under supervision of Respiratory Therapist on all clinically stable patients including oxygen therapy, non‑invasive monitoring, patient assessment, and bland aerosol delivery, medication delivery via SVN, and MDI with spacers.
- Perform chest physiotherapy (e.g., percussion, postural drainage, PEP mask, resistive devices, incentive spirometry, etc.).
- Perform non‑invasive ventilation (CPAP and BiPAP) on clinically stable patient as assigned.
- Suction intubated and non‑intubated patients, routine tracheostomy changes.
- Assess efficacy and patient’s response to procedures and make appropriate notations in the patient’s medical records.
- Perform arterial blood sampling and analysis, blood gas acid based determinations, co‑oximetry, and Na+/K+ determinations.
- Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency airway management according to approved protocols.
- Responsible for re‑stocking ventilators at patient bedside, cleaning, and preparing equipment for sterilization, disassembling, cleaning/decontamination and reassembly of RCS equipment as assigned.
- Carry out routine maintenance of equipment and maintain RCS workroom supplies including re‑stocking Herman‑Miller storage bins with needed equipment.
- Assist in maintaining RCS equipment preventive maintenance schedule as assigned.
- Report all results, problems and/or issues, whether patient or staff related to the area therapist and/or supervisor as required.
- Assist in education, development, orientation of new employees, and perception of students as assigned.
- Follow all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Respiratory Care or graduation from an accredited Saudi Respiratory Technician Program is required.
Experience RequiredNo experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or two (2) years with Associate Degree/Diploma or any other accredited Saudi Respiratory Technician Program is required.
Other Requirements / Certifications- Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
- Respiratory Therapy Certification from country of origin is preferred.
- Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Advanced Life Support Course (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- Endotracheal intubation training is preferred.
