Social Worker Assistant

• Interviews patients and their families to identify and assess the need for social work services and other needed services and information. Assists patients with their social, environmental, financial and emotional difficulties, which interfere with the attainment of maximum benefit from medical care utilizing available resources in the community.
• Advises patients’ regarding available accommodation and transportation in the Riyadh area. Updates relevant information as needed.
• Helps patients and families through individual or group conferences to understand, accept and follow medical recommendations and Hospital policies.
• Interviews patients with problems to determine nature and level of problem.
• Makes rounds in the inpatient and outpatient areas and joins physician rounds as needed. Discusses with patients and care‑givers the psychosocial problems related to hospitalization or treatment and provides patients with needed services and information.
• Utilizes community resources to assist patients to resume life in community or to learn to live within limits of disability.
• Assists patients with planning for post-hospital care in cooperation with the discharge planner.
• Responsible for ensuring financial assistance to patients, if they fulfil set criteria.
• Prepares and provides eligible patients with airfare letter. Arranges and registers referrals to Hospitality House according to policy and follows up with Hospitality House regarding vacancies.
• Participates in Self & Hospital’s quality improvement plan.
• Follows all Hospital related Policies and Procedures.
• Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or other related discipline is required.

One (1) year of related experience is required.

Current Registration from Saudi Commission for Health specialties (SCHS)
