Job Description

The role of a public health specialist includes developing and monitoring the implementation of national public health policies and strategies, as well as monitoring drinking water quality, food safety, and the certification of workers in food manufacturing and sales establishments. The work also includes preparing and maintaining health reports in accordance with approved policies.

Main duties and responsibilities

Basic tasks

• Developing national public health strategies and policies and monitoring their implementation in various facilities.
• Monitoring the safety of drinking water, taking samples for bacteriological and chemical testing, and investigating the causes of contamination.
• Inspecting water purification and sterilization equipment and ensuring its compliance with standards.
• Monitoring the safety of food and beverages in factories, restaurants and points of sale, and taking samples to check for contamination.
• Monitoring the health certificates of workers in the field of food preparation and sales.
• Developing work procedures and methods in accordance with the latest global evidence in the field of public health.
• Preparing and storing public health-related documents and reports in specialized databases.
• Adherence to public safety standards while performing health and field tasks.

Employment requirements

Experience:

• Three years of experience in public health or infection control is required .

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the field of:
  • Infection control

Languages:

• English language (certified or preferred level).

Required skills:

• Healthcare facility infection control management skills (certified - preferred).
