JOB TITLE:

HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR

REPORTING TO: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF HOUSEKEEPING / HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER

THE POSITION

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms and common areas within the hotel. This role involves inspecting rooms and public spaces, supervising the housekeeping team, and ensuring a high level of attention to detail to enhance guest satisfaction and uphold the hotel’s reputation for excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES Guest Experience Management
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional housekeeping services by maintaining high cleanliness standards and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Assist in developing and implementing initiatives that enhance guest comfort and overall satisfaction.
Staff Coordination
  • Supervise the housekeeping team, ensuring they are well-trained and capable of delivering high-quality service.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and hotel offerings.
Room and Public Area Inspections
  • Perform regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Identify and address any deficiencies promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed.
OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY Communication and Collaboration
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure smooth communication and coordination across all hotel functions.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with housekeeping staff to discuss challenges, share feedback, and improve service delivery.
Operational Procedures
  • Review and optimize operational procedures for housekeeping to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure all housekeeping staff adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
HEALTH, SAFETY, AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations relevant to housekeeping operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and take necessary corrective actions.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the housekeeping team.
  • Encourage team members to take initiative and demonstrate confidence in their roles.
LEADERSHIP
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising housekeeping staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback and identifying development opportunities.
CREATING THE FUTURE
  • Innovate and implement new cleaning techniques and service initiatives to continually enhance the guest experience.
  • Anticipate future trends in hospitality and adapt housekeeping strategies accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent (hospitality-related education is a plus).
  • Proven experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or in a similar role within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality service.
  • Familiarity with hotel management software and systems is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
  • Local market experience and understanding of Middle-Eastern hospitality preferences.
