Role ContextThe Bartender
- Beverage Service will support daily bar and lounge operations by preparing beverages according to approved recipes, organizing supplies, maintaining cleanliness, processing payments, and ensuring guests receive professional and attentive service. The role requires accuracy, product handling discipline, cash control, hygiene awareness, and strong guest interaction skills. The selected candidate will help maintain a polished luxury hospitality experience by keeping the bar area prepared, well stocked, clean, and aligned with hotel service standards.
- Prepare guest drink orders according to approved recipes, measuring standards, and presentation requirements.
- Issue, open, and serve beverage bottles according to hotel procedures and guest service standards.
- Set up the bar, bar unit, tables, tools, supplies, and service areas before and during operations.
- Maintain cleanliness, order, and proper condition of the bar, workstations, glassware, tools, and surrounding areas.
- Prepare fresh garnishes and beverage accompaniments according to daily service needs.
- Stock ice, glassware, paper supplies, service materials, and other bar operating items.
- Transport supplies to the bar setup area and ensure required items are available for smooth service.
- Wash soiled glassware and maintain clean service equipment throughout the shift.
- Remove used items from bar tops and tables and place them in designated cleaning or collection areas.
- Anticipate replenishment needs and communicate supply shortages to the supervisor.
- Process guest payments using approved payment methods and hotel cashiering procedures.
- Count bank at the end of the shift, complete cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, drop receipts, and secure cash properly.
- Secure beverage stock, coolers, cabinets, storage areas, and bar inventory according to company policy.
- Complete closing duties accurately, including cleaning, securing supplies, and preparing the bar for the next shift.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests according to hotel standards and respond to service needs with genuine care.
- Speak clearly and professionally with guests, supervisors, and team members.
- Follow all company safety, security, hygiene, grooming, confidentiality, and quality standards.
- Report accidents, injuries, unsafe work conditions, equipment issues, or service concerns to management.
- Complete required safety training and certifications as assigned.
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues and support team goals during daily operations.
- Stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, and handle objects during a full work shift.
- Move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance when required by operational duties.
- Perform additional reasonable duties requested by supervisors to support food and beverage operations.
- High school diploma, G.E.D. equivalent, or similar educational qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience in bartending, beverage service, bar operations, food and beverage service, restaurant service, lounge service, or hotel hospitality.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No license or certification required.
- Good understanding of beverage preparation, bar setup, service flow, cashiering, stock control, and cleanliness standards.
- Able to follow recipes, use measuring systems, prepare garnishes, handle glassware, and maintain consistent beverage presentation.
- Comfortable processing payments, counting shift bank, completing cashier reports, and handling receipts accurately.
- Strong attention to detail when checking stock, supplies, guest orders, service tools, and bar cleanliness.
- Able to communicate professionally with guests and colleagues in a luxury hospitality setting.
- Physically able to stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, reach, and move through service areas during a full shift.
