This is a rare opportunity to build, shape, and lead the regional legal function for a fast-growing, innovation-driven business with ambitious expansion plans across the Middle East and Africa.

Based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this role sits at the heart of the company’s regional leadership team and will act as a trusted strategic adviser to senior management, supporting commercial growth while ensuring robust governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management across multiple jurisdictions.

The General Counsel will have full ownership of all legal and compliance matters across KSA and the wider MEA region, with a mandate to establish best-in-class legal infrastructure
, develop regional legal strategy, and build a high-performing in-house legal team aligned with global standards.

This is a hands‑on leadership role combining strategic influence with practical execution in a dynamic, fast‑evolving regulatory and commercial environment.

• Lead and oversee all corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters across KSA and the wider MEA region.
• Design and execute the regional legal strategy, ensuring alignment with global legal policies and business objectives.
• Build, mentor, and manage a regional in-house legal team, fostering a culture of excellence, responsiveness, and commercial awareness.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, strategic partnerships, and technology‑related contracts.
• Advise senior leadership on regulatory frameworks, market entry considerations, and ongoing compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support corporate transactions, including structuring, due diligence, negotiations, documentation, and post‑completion matters.
• Provide strategic oversight of intellectual property matters, including registration, protection, enforcement, and monetization across the region.
• Monitor and manage potential IP infringement risks, working closely with external counsel on dispute resolution or litigation strategy where required.
• Select, instruct, and manage external counsel, ensuring high‑quality advice, commercial pragmatism, and cost efficiency.
• Act as a key legal liaison between regional leadership and global legal teams, ensuring consistency of standards while addressing local requirements.

• 15+ years’ post‑qualification experience, gained within a top‑tier international law firm and/or in‑house role within the technology or high‑growth sector.
• Strong experience advising on corporate and commercial matters in Saudi Arabia; exposure to capital markets within KSA is advantageous.
• Proven ability to operate as a senior strategic adviser to business leadership in complex, multi‑jurisdictional environments.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience building and managing legal teams.
• Saudi National (mandatory requirement).
• Fluency in English and Arabic is essential. Mandarin language skills are highly desirable, reflecting the company’s international footprint and cross‑border commercial relationships.
• Commercially astute, solutions‑oriented, and confident managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
