Job Purpose
Lead and manage the Broker Unit by planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all broker-related operations within the assigned region. The role ensures alignment with company objectives, maximizes profitability, enhances efficiency, and strengthens broker partnerships.
Key Areas of Responsibility- Participate with senior management in department and business unit initiatives related to product development, processes, underwriting policy, and strategy.
- Recommend and implement changes to improve productivity, profitability, growth, and the quality of the assigned book of business.
- Ensure alignment between the business line strategy and overall departmental strategy, setting clear goals with the team to enhance business results.
- Monitor the implementation of cascaded objectives and outcomes for continuous improvement.
- Propose strategic enhancements within the area of expertise to strengthen relationships and support organizational growth.
- Assist in identifying and recruiting Brokers Unit staff.
- Identify and recruit new brokers within the region.
- Negotiate broker contracts in coordination with the concerned DGM–Commercial.
- Assess and fulfill training needs of brokers and Brokers Unit staff.
- Ensure motivation and engagement of the broker network.
- Establish sales terms, conditions, and commission rates when required.
- Lead internal Brokers Unit meetings.
- Control unit costs and ensure compliance with the approved budget.
- Prepare the annual Brokers Unit budget aligned with AICC’s strategic direction.
- Provide required reports and performance statistics related to Brokers Unit activities.
- Support product pricing and profitability through analysis and insights.
- Contribute to business development by assessing marketing potential of brokers.
- Monitor and control broker performance, including:
- Client cancellation and renewal rates
- Claims frequency and value
- Recommend continuation or discontinuation of broker relationships when necessary.
- Establish sales objectives by region, class of business, and market segment in coordination with DGM–Commercial.
- Cascade sales targets and distribute them across teams.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets using technical expertise and relationship management skills.
- Analyze sales performance to identify growth opportunities.
- Follow up on cash operations to ensure compliance with AICC standards.
- Coordinate with DGM–Commercial to resolve operational or performance issues.
- Ensure effective coordination between the Brokers Unit and all AICC departments.
- Support marketing and promotional initiatives in collaboration with brokers.
- Develop and maintain an annual manpower plan.
- Provide technical guidance and support to staff on complex operational matters.
- Attend relevant meetings, seminars, and programs to enhance industry knowledge and broker network development.
- Identify potential risk areas and implement corrective action plans.
- Review segment profitability and growth trends to support sound underwriting decisions.
- Ensure compliance with risk management systems and information protection standards.
- Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare unit budgets and forecasts in coordination with DGM–Commercial.
- Monitor performance against budgets and resolve variances.
- Control costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain strong broker relationships by:
- Promoting and explaining products and services
- Managing broker relationships and ensuring ongoing satisfaction and feedback
- Manage and develop the Brokers Unit team to deliver high-quality and profitable services.
- Conduct regular performance appraisals and support staff development initiatives.
- Review and approve reports, correspondence, and documentation for accuracy.
- Ensure documentation, implementation, and communication of policies and procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with AICC policies.
- Contribute to policy and SOP development.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards.
- Monitor broker feedback and complaints for continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in Insurance Sales.
- Prior experience in KSA is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of insurance industry practices and procedures.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to prepare, present, and defend business reports.
