Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking an experienced Director – Health & Safety to lead and drive the health, safety and environmental HSE strategy for one of Qiddiya s largest precincts. In this leadership role you will oversee the development and execution of robust health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe working environment throughout the entire construction lifecycle.
As the Director you will collaborate closely with project teams, contractors and stakeholders to implement best practices and foster a culture of safety and accountability. Your expertise will be crucial in managing risk, reducing incidents and safeguarding the wellbeing of all employees and contractors.
- Lead the formulation and implementation of the health and safety strategy.
- Develop, maintain and enforce health and safety policies, procedures and guidelines tailored to large-scale construction projects.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and implement effective mitigation measures.
- Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee health and safety training initiatives and promote continuous awareness across all levels of the construction workforce.
- Ensure compliance with local, national and international health and safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with project management, contractors and external agencies to integrate health and safety considerations into all construction phases.
- Monitor health and safety performance metrics and prepare detailed reports for executive management.
- Advocate for a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
- Keep abreast of emerging trends, technologies and regulations related to construction health and safety.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field;
Master's degree preferred. - Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in health and safety management within large-scale construction programs.
- Proven track record of successfully leading HSE programs and initiatives in complex construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments, incident investigations, and implement effective corrective measures.
- Demonstrated experience in fostering a safety-first culture and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
