The World Water Council (WWC) has launched its Youth Delegate Program for the 2026–2028 mandate, inviting dynamic young leaders passionate about water, sustainability, and global cooperation to become part of a transformative journey in international water governance.
Program OverviewThe WWC Youth Delegate Program is designed to empower young professionals and activists to take an active role in shaping the global water agenda. Selected delegates will serve as youth representatives, amplifying young voices in decision-making spaces, and contributing to sustainable solutions for global water challenges.
Over the three-year mandate, delegates will:
- Participate in WWC meetings and activities, offering youth perspectives on key discussions.
- Contribute to the 11th World Water Forum in Riyadh, 2027, one of the world’s largest platforms for water policy and innovation.
- Collaborate through the WWC Young Mission, leading and co-developing youth-driven initiatives.
- Engage with regional youth networks to strengthen inclusivity and ensure diverse representation in the water sector.
- Support communication and outreach to amplify the voices of young professionals in the WWC community.
This initiative highlights WWC’s commitment to integrating youth in its core mission of promoting sustainable water management worldwide.
Eligibility CriteriaTo qualify for the 2026–2028 cohort, applicants must:
- Be 18 to 35 years old at the time of application.
- Represent an organization or initiative connected to youth and water-related activities.
- Reside within the region they represent.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English and strong communication skills.
- Show a solid understanding of WWC’s mission and values, with prior experience in water governance, climate action, or youth advocacy.
- Commit to the full three-year term (2026–2028) and actively participate in meetings and forums.
This is a voluntary, unpaid position, designed to cultivate leadership and collaboration among emerging water sector professionals. However, the World Water Council will cover travel expenses for official meetings and events during the mandate, ensuring accessibility and global participation.
