The Hemodialysis (HD) Unit provides renal replacement therapies (RRT) including: acute hemodialysis, chronic hemodialysis, hemofiltration, hemodiafiltration. In addition, it supports preparation of continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) for adult and pediatric patients. The patients are categorized as having acute renal failure or end stage renal disease and many have multiple co-morbidities. Care is provided to patients of all ages including neonates.
Their treatment regimen requires close monitoring and prompt nursing intervention when necessary to ensure a safe, effective and comfortable treatment.
Approximately 2,800-3,000 RRT sessions per month.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (online/distance education programs cannot be considered)
- Current nursing (RN) license
- Must have a minimum of two years current experience as an RN in Hemodialysis in a tertiary hospital setting
- Must have recent/current experience in BOTH inpatient hemodialysis AND in peritoneal dialysis
