Account Manager – Healthcare IT (Account-Based Sales)

About the RoleOur client is seeking a sales-driven Account Manager to own, retain, and grow strategic healthcare customer accounts in the healthcare integration and interoperability space.
This role is focused on revenue growth within existing accounts through renewals, upsell, and cross-sell. The successful candidate will be deeply embedded in each customer, understand their environment and key stakeholders, and proactively identify opportunities to expand the company’s footprint.
Delivery execution is managed by dedicated project management and technical teams, allowing the Account Manager to focus on customer satisfaction and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Account Ownership & Revenue Growth- Own the commercial relationship and revenue targets for assigned accounts
- Develop and execute tailored account growth plans for each customer
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including: CIOs, IT Directors, and Digital Health leaders, Clinical informatics and integration teams, Procurement and finance stakeholders
- Position the company as a trusted long-term strategic partner
- Drive all sales activity within assigned accounts, including:
License renewals (subscription and support), New licenses and modules, Professional services and managed services - Identify and close opportunities for:
New integrations and interfaces, Upgrades, enhancements, and migrations, Staff augmentation and support services - Collaborate with presales and technical teams to shape solutions, prepare proposals and pricing, support negotiations, and close deals
- Maintain accurate pipeline and revenue forecasts
- Ensure high customer satisfaction to secure renewals and enable expansions
- Serve as the primary escalation point for commercial or delivery-related concerns
- Partner with project management and delivery teams to monitor progress, mitigate risks impacting revenue, and lead executive account reviews and roadmap discussions
- Oversee delivery quality only as it affects customer satisfaction and revenue
- Coordinate with project management on milestone acceptance and scope/commercial changes
- Support resolution of delivery issues that could impact invoicing or renewals
- Own the financial performance of accounts (revenue growth, renewal rates, margin awareness)
- Ensure timely milestone approvals and invoice issuance in collaboration with project management and Finance
- Assist with collections where required
- 7–12+ years in Enterprise Account Management and/or B2B Sales (software or IT services)
- Proven track record managing existing enterprise accounts with recurring revenue models
- Experience selling into healthcare providers, payers, or public-sector organizations is a strong advantage
- Strong consultative selling and negotiation capabilities
- Ability to sell value over price
- Excellent executive-level communication and stakeholder management
- Commercially astute with a long-term account ownership mindset
- Knowledge of healthcare IT and integration environments
- Familiarity with integration standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM)
- Experience in enterprise software licensing and professional services sales
- Account revenue growth
