Job Scope
As a Plumber Technician you are responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems in residential, commercial and industrial settings. This role involves working with pipes, fixtures, fittings and appliances to ensure proper water flow, drainage and sanitation in buildings.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Install and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, faucets, toilets, water heaters and drainage systems in accordance with building codes and regulations.
- Connect water supply lines, drainage pipes and fixtures, and test systems for leaks, proper flow and functionality.
- Conduct routine maintenance on plumbing systems, inspecting pipes, drains and fixtures for wear and damage and performing preventive repairs to avoid emergencies.
- Troubleshoot plumbing issues, identify blockages, leaks and malfunctions, and repair or replace components as needed.
- Ensure water quality standards are met by installing filtration systems, water softeners and treatment devices to improve purity and prevent contamination.
- Implement safety measures such as installing backflow prevention devices, pressure regulators and temperature controls to protect against waterborne hazards.
- Install and maintain gas lines, gas appliances and fittings following safety protocols and regulations to prevent leaks and ensure proper ventilation.
- Conduct pressure tests, leak detection and gas line inspections to verify system integrity and compliance with safety standards.
- Interact with customers to understand plumbing needs, provide estimates, explain repair options and address concerns.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors and clients to coordinate service calls, schedule appointments and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, inspections conducted and safety measures implemented during installations and repairs.
- Generate service reports, work orders and documentation of system performance to track maintenance schedules and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Certification or training in plumbing systems, pipe fitting or plumbing installation.
- Experience installing, maintaining and repairing residential or commercial plumbing systems.
- Knowledge of plumbing codes, safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service, communication skills and commitment to safety and quality.
