This role bridges workshop production and live event delivery — ensuring that every build reaches site on time, is installed to specification, and is struck efficiently post-event.

The Team Leader is the first point of accountability on site and must command both technical credibility and strong crew management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crew Leadership:
Lead, brief, and direct a team of 5–15 installation technicians on site, allocating tasks based on skill set and project priority.
  • Site Planning & Preparation:
Study installation drawings, site plans, and build schedules in advance; conduct pre-installation site surveys and identify access, rigging, or structural constraints.
  • Installation Execution:
Oversee and actively participate in the assembly and installation of large-scale custom builds, furniture, props, draping, lighting rigs, and structural elements to specification.
  • Scheduling & Workflow Management:
Manage on-site timelines, coordinate parallel work streams, and adjust task allocation in real time to maintain delivery schedule.
  • Quality Control:
Conduct on-site QC checks at each installation stage to ensure builds match approved drawings, finish standards, and client expectations.
  • Health & Safety Leadership:
Enforce site safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, manage permit-to-work processes, and ensure PPE compliance across the full crew.
  • Client & Stakeholder Interface:
Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, venue managers, and project coordinators during installation; elevate issues proactively.
  • Derig & Asset Recovery:
Lead the safe and efficient derig of all installations post-event; ensure all company assets are accounted for, undamaged, and loaded for return.
  • Snag Management:
Identify, document, and resolve installation snags in real time; elevate structural or design issues to the project manager immediately.
  • Logistics Coordination:
Manage vehicle loading/unloading sequences, site access scheduling, and coordination with logistics teams for on-time material delivery.
Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of installation techniques for wood, metal, fabric, and soft furnishing elements.
