We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our warehouse maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of warehouse equipment and mechanical systems.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on trucks and heavy vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in diesel engines, transmissions, and driveline systems.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair braking, suspension, steering, and cooling systems.
- Replace defective mechanical parts and components.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and operational readiness.
- Troubleshoot vehicle breakdowns and restore functionality within required timelines.
- Perform lubrication, adjustments, and scheduled servicing activities.
- Test vehicles after maintenance and repairs to ensure proper performance.
- Maintain maintenance records, service reports, and work orders.
- Report recurring vehicle issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and HSE requirements.
- Use workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices safely and effectively.
- Support fleet availability by minimizing vehicle downtime and ensuring vehicles are ready for operation.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in truck, heavy vehicle, or fleet maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, driveline systems, brakes, suspension, steering, and cooling systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently.
- Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Proficiency in using vehicle diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and maintenance instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Relevant technical certifications in truck or heavy vehicle maintenance are preferred.
