Overview
The Electrical Foreman is responsible for supervising and directing the daily execution of electrical activities at the project site. The role ensures that electrical installations are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and project schedules under the guidance of the Electrical Site Engineer.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate daily electrical installation activities on site, including LV, MV, and related electrical systems as applicable.
- Allocate tasks and manage electrical technicians, skilled workers, and laborers to ensure productivity and efficient execution of work.
- Execute work in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and instructions provided by the Electrical Site Engineer.
- Monitor manpower utilization and ensure that work progresses according to the approved project schedule.
- Inspect work areas and verify that electrical installations are carried out correctly and in compliance with quality standards.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and other site disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure smooth workflow.
- Report daily work progress, manpower deployment, material requirements, and site issues to the Electrical Site Engineer.
- Ensure the availability and proper use of materials, tools, equipment, and consumables required for site activities.
- Verify that materials delivered to site comply with approved specifications and are suitable for installation.
- Assist in testing, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning activities of electrical systems.
- Identify site constraints, technical issues, or deviations and communicate them promptly to the Electrical Site Engineer.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements, site safety regulations, HSE procedures, and company policies by all team members.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and promote a safe working environment.
- Monitor housekeeping standards and maintain organized work areas.
- Support quality control activities and ensure adherence to Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and inspection requirements.
- Assist in rectifying non‑conformities and implementing corrective actions as instructed.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades to facilitate uninterrupted work progress.
- Maintain records of daily activities, attendance, equipment utilization, and completed work.
- Support the preparation of snag lists and ensure timely completion of corrective works.
- Provide on‑the‑job guidance and coaching to electrical workers to improve workmanship and productivity.
- Assist in cable pulling activities, cable terminations, installation of panels, lighting fixtures, containment systems, and associated electrical works.
- Stay informed about updated installation practices, materials, and technologies relevant to electrical works, and keep projects at the forefront of innovation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Electrical Diploma from a recognized Technical/Industrial Institute or equivalent qualification.
• 6+ years of experience in electrical site execution, including building services, MEP, commercial, residential, hospitality, or related construction projects.
• Previous experience in supervising electrical teams within construction projects.
Skills and Abilities
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and installation practices.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, shop drawings, and installation details.
• Good understanding of electrical materials, cable types, containment systems, fittings, tools, and equipment used in site execution.
• Familiarity with testing and commissioning support activities.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical safety standards and site HSE procedures.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office applications for reporting purposes is preferred.
• Good communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong leadership and team supervision capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good understanding of project workflows and site coordination requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English;
Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
