Medium Voltage Electrical Cheif Technician

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of electrical technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of medium voltage (MV) distribution systems.
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules for MV equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational reliability.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical faults in MV switch gear, transformers, and associated protection systems, restoring power safely and efficiently.
• Oversee the safe execution of switching procedures and lockout/tagout protocols for MV systems, adhering to strict safety regulations.
• Perform detailed inspections and testing of MV cables, terminations, and joints to identify potential degradation and prevent failures.
• Manage inventory and procurement of MV electrical components and materials, ensuring availability for planned and emergency repairs.
• Interpret and utilize complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation for MV systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis for MV equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Train and mentor junior technicians on MV electrical principles, safety procedures, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, codes, and company safety policies for MV electrical operations.
• Install and maintain medium‑voltage electrical systems and panels.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting single‑line diagrams, wiring schematics, and P&.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve intricate electrical issues.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to effectively manage and motivate a technical team.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in demanding operational environments.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces, often in challenging conditions.
