Motor Winding Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot motor failures by inspecting windings, insulation, and electrical components to ensure accurate problem identification.
• Perform precise rewinding of electric motor stators and rotors using appropriate wire gauges and winding patterns to restore optimal performance.
• Test and analyze motor performance post‑rewinding, ensuring compliance with specified electrical parameters and verifying operational integrity.
• Execute the removal and installation of electric motors and associated equipment while adhering to safety protocols and industry best practices.
• Conduct thorough inspections of motor components, identify wear and tear, and recommend necessary repairs or replacements to prevent future failures.
• Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including repair logs, testing results, and parts used for effective tracking and accountability.
• Operate specialized equipment such as winding machines, growlers, and test benches skillfully to achieve accurate and efficient repairs.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to understand motor specifications and apply appropriate repair techniques.
• Repair and rewind electric motors, pumps, and alternators.

• Strong technical skills in motor diagnostics, rewinding, and testing, ensuring the ability to perform core tasks.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics, enabling accurate troubleshooting and repair.
