Electrical Mechanic Generators s Technician

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and inspections on a variety of generators including diesel, natural gas, and propane units ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment, quickly identifying root causes of malfunctions.

Conduct detailed repairs and replacements of generator components such as alternators, engines, control panels, and fuel systems, adhering to strict safety protocols.

Execute load bank testing and performance analysis to verify generator output and efficiency under various operating conditions.

Install and commission new generator sets, ensuring proper integration with existing electrical systems and compliance with all relevant codes and standards.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive service records documenting all maintenance and repair activities and parts used for each unit.

Hold relevant certifications such as an Electrician's license, Cummins Certified Technician, or Caterpillar Certified Technician.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and technical service manuals.

Strong technical aptitude in diagnosing and repairing diesel and natural gas engines, AC/DC electrical systems, and control systems.

Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to systematically troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.

Effective communication skills to clearly explain technical issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
