Opportunity

Summary

Environmental Manager at the Rosemary Power Station will oversee and coordinate multi-media environmental programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, local requirements, site-specific permits, and Dominion-administered policies. Serving as the on-site subject matter expert for EPA and DEQ regulations, this role includes managing emissions, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous materials, and environmental compliance plans, using monitoring systems, reporting, and internal coordination to maintain regulatory adherence.

The Environmental Manager will also support regulatory interactions, conduct EHS training, maintain compliance tracking systems, and lead spill prevention and response efforts to sustain the facility’s environmental performance.

Your scope of responsibility as Environmental Manager includes the following primary functions:

  • Coordinate and implement daily multi-media environmental programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and site-specific permit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of all EPA, DEQ, and Dominion-administered permits and environmental programs, serving as the on-site subject matter expert while coordinating with plant management and Dominion personnel to promptly resolve regulatory issues.
  • Implement and maintain multi-media compliance plans, including SPCC/FRP, SWPPP, CEMS QA/QC, hazardous materials, and hazardous waste management.
  • Utilize Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) and Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) to measure, track, and evaluate emissions, ensure Title V compliance, optimize reduction strategies, and assess control effectiveness.
  • Manage the wastewater program per the Industrial User Permit (IUP) and NPDES requirements, including discharge sampling, analysis, inspections, recordkeeping, and updating Slug/Spill Plans.
  • Ensure compliance with stormwater pollution prevention requirements, including sampling, discharge prevention measures, and reporting to regulatory agencies.
  • Compile and submit regulatory reports—monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual—including emissions, wastewater, stormwater, waste, and chemical reporting, ensuring timely submission to NCDEQ and federal agencies.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders on spill prevention, response, and reporting to ensure timely and effective action.
  • Support the facility owner in interfacing with regulators, including inspections, information requests, permit modifications, and routine compliance communications.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during regulatory compliance visits.
  • Maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS) filing system and Environmental Compliance Tracking System (ECTS), ensuring accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Conduct Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) training for plant personnel to support regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
