Summary
This position monitors and coordinates daily maintenance activities, provides technical / engineering support to the maintenance group, as needed, striving to continually identify and implement means of predicting and preventing equipment failures. Will act as the Project Manager and provide technical/engineering support for capital projects.

- Monitor the initiation, development, assignment and completion of general maintenance work orders and strive to identify areas in which improvement can be made to decrease failure and increase the efficiency of repairs.
- Provide technical / engineering support on a continual basis to the Maintenance Department and coordinate work that involves multiple disciplines to ensure that all maintenance-related tasks are completed in a professional and timely manner.
- Coordinate and / or schedule non-routine maintenance work including inspections, plant turnarounds and emergency shutdowns.
- Maintain files for all plant equipment containing summaries of major repairs, purchasing documentation showing parts, etc. ordered and associated costs, and any other documentation related to the equipment that may be needed.
- Develop / maintain a preventive maintenance system within the company CMMS.
- Develop / maintain predictive maintenance program to increase plant equipment reliability.
- Participate in Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Develop completed project design specifications from basic conceptual ideas with limited direction.
- Organize, prepare and conduct project reviews with key personnel to further develop project details.
- Monitor progress of assigned projects to verify schedule and budget requirements are met.
- Review project details and equipment with Maintenance personnel (supervision, engineering, technicians) to ensure maintenance interest are addressed.
- Prepare detailed project estimates and cost justifications for developing Authorizations for Expenditure (AFE), Project Approval Form (PAF) and other documentation as necessary for management approval of projects.
- Prepare and implement project schedules as needed for efficient completion of tasks utilizing all applicable work groups and resources.
- Manage assigned projects from project approval through project completion.
- Secure and coordinate contract consulting, engineering and design services for supplemental design assistance as needed to accomplish project goals.
- Specify and procure parts and equipment as needed and verify compatibility with service conditions and applicable design codes.
- Create bid specifications and perform bid evaluations.
- Document all phases of project design, construction and installation to verify compliance with specifications and code requirements.
- Initiate, participate in, and ensure the completion of the Management of Change Procedure, including Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, for project related activities.
- Ensure startup spares are secured for project related equipment prior to startup and recommend spare parts to be maintained for the life of the equipment.
- Ensure equipment files are created and maintained for project related equipment.
- Ensure drawings are updated as needed for assigned projects
- Act as a liaison between maintenance, contractors and operations during project execution.
- B.S., Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in the Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil/Gas, Paper or other related industries.
- Batch Chemical Maintenance experience would also be ideal.
- Thorough understanding of chemical manufacturing equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and managing preventative, predictive and risk-based maintenance programs as part of implementing an Asset Reliability Culture.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI and AWS standards.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of appropriate OSHA Process Safety Management Elements.
- Experience in leading Root Cause Investigations.
- Knowledge of SAP maintenance management system ideal.
- Experience in managing others of varying backgrounds.
- Experience in leading multi-functional teams.

- Strong experience in strategic and tactical planning and implementation.
