Med/Surg | Registered Nurse | 13-Week Travel RN Contract – Roanoke Rapids, NC Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) Assignment in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina

Travel RN opportunity in Roanoke Rapids, NC: join a collaborative Medical/Surgical nursing team, expand your acute care experience, and work with EPIC charting in a supportive eastern North Carolina healthcare setting.

  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680 - $1,770

  • Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5-6
  • Unit Size: 36 beds/cases
  • Travel Rule: 80-mile radius rule applies
Job Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact RN license accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or related acute care nursing experience
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Strong teamwork, adaptability, and excellent bedside nursing skills
  • Experience assisting providers with bedside procedures
  • Comfort working with common Medical/Surgical diagnoses and post-op patients
Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, high-quality care to general Medical/Surgical patients with varied acuity
  • Monitor patient conditions, document accurately in EPIC, and communicate changes promptly
  • Assist with bedside procedures and support providers as needed
  • Manage common Med/Surg conditions such as COPD exacerbation, sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, renal failure, and post-op recovery
  • Perform and support care involving chest tubes, central lines, tracheostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, wound vacs, and more as appropriate
  • Administer medications and therapies safely, including IV medications and drips per unit protocol
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, nursing assistants, and ancillary staff to deliver team-based patient care
  • Float to other nursing areas as needed based on census and skill set
