Role Description The Adjunct Clinical Instructor Nursing role is a full-time, on-site position located in Roanoke Rapids, NC. This role involves supervising nursing students in clinical settings, demonstrating best practices in patient care, and ensuring adherence to clinical and institutional policies. The instructor will evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and support the development of clinical judgment and professional behavior. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating clinical experiences with partner facilities, reinforcing didactic content through hands-on instruction, maintaining accurate documentation of student progress, and collaborating with nursing faculty to align clinical teaching with program objectives.
Qualifications

  • Ability to provide effective Clinical Education and hands-on instruction to nursing students in diverse clinical environments.
  • Knowledge and experience in Medicine and Critical Care Medicine sufficient to guide students in safe, evidence-based patient care.
  • Experience in Training and Research to support student learning, integrate current best practices, and contribute to continuous program improvement.
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license, with eligibility to practice in North Carolina.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred; bachelor’s degree in Nursing required with relevant clinical experience.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive, learner-centered teaching.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and clinical partners, and to model professional conduct and ethical practice.
  • Prior teaching or precepting experience in academic or clinical settings is highly beneficial.
