Holiday Inn Express & Suites Roanoke Rapids SE is seeking a Certified Maintenance Technician to join our team.

In this role, you will be the backbone of our property’s physical health, ensuring that our guest rooms, public spaces, and mechanical systems are safe, fully functional, and visually flawless. This is a hands‑on position requiring a mix of preventative maintenance, quick‑response troubleshooting, and a friendly, guest‑first attitude.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Execute the hotel’s routine preventative maintenance program for guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces to meet strict IHG brand standards.

  • General Repairs: Diagnose and perform minor repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting.

  • HVAC/PTAC Care: Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot guest room PTAC units and general property HVAC systems.

  • Safety & Compliance: Monitor and maintain pool chemistry, fire safety equipment, and emergency lighting, ensuring full compliance with local codes and franchise quality assurance (QA) guidelines.

  • Rapid Response: Respond promptly and courteously to guest and front desk requests for maintenance assistance.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial building maintenance, preferably in a hotel or apartment complex setting.

  • Certifications:
    Must possess at least one relevant professional certification (e.g., Certified Pool Operator (CPO), HVAC/EPA certification, or a general building maintenance/hospitality certification).

  • Skills: Strong working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Ability to use a wide variety of hand and power tools safely.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and spend extended periods walking, standing, and bending.

  • Schedule: Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and rotate on‑call shifts for maintenance emergencies.
