Halifax Linen Service is looking for a dependable and flexible CDL Class A Route Support Driver to join our Corporate Service team as a Service Support Representative (SSR).

This is not a line-haul-only driving position and it is not a traditional customer-service position. The SSR is the person we count on to step in wherever the Service Department needs support - covering an RSR route, riding as a jumper/helper, operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck, or completing special deliveries and pickups.

• Cover established customer routes when a Route Service Representative (RSR) is absent, on vacation, in training, or when additional coverage is needed.
• Ride with RSRs as a jumper/helper to help complete routes safely and efficiently.
• Safely operate tractor-trailers, straight trucks, and other assigned Halifax Linen Service vehicles.
• Load and unload linen products; deliver clean products and retrieve soiled products.
• Complete special deliveries, pickups, exchanges, and other Service Department assignments.
• Learn multiple routes, customer locations, service requirements, and delivery procedures.
• Complete required vehicle inspections and route, delivery, pickup, and vehicle documentation.
• Communicate customer, route, product, or vehicle concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
• Step in wherever the Service Department needs support to help ensure customer commitments are met.

A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required at the time of hire.

• Ability to meet Halifax Linen Service driver qualification requirements and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Experience safely operating commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and/or straight trucks.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong commitment to safety.
• Availability for early morning start times, primarily Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend work based on business needs.
• Willingness to perform both commercial driving AND physically active multi-stop route work.
• Ability to repeatedly enter and exit vehicles, load and unload products, and work throughout customer locations.
• Ability to learn different routes and adjust when assignments, schedules, or priorities change.
• Ability to work independently while covering a route and as part of a team while serving as a jumper/helper.
• Professional communication and conduct when representing Halifax Linen Service at customer locations.

Commercial linen or uniform route experience is preferred, but candidates with strong experience in similar route-based industries will also be considered.

Relevant backgrounds include linen/uniform service, beverage delivery, food service distribution, route delivery, route sales/service, commercial multi-stop delivery, and similar distribution or service operations.

Experience as a jumper/helper, relief driver, route driver, Route Service Representative, or similar hands-on commercial delivery professional is especially desirable.

• Stand and walk throughout the workday, including walking up to five miles per day.
• Sit for prolonged periods while operating a vehicle and frequently enter and exit company vehicles.
• Climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; push; and pull.
• Repeatedly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
• Use hands and fingers to handle products, tools, equipment, and vehicle controls.
