Position: Administrative Management Technology (AMT) Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)

Job Summary

Administrative Management Technology (AMT) Adjunct Faculty positions at Virginia Western Community College are part‑time roles teaching in‑person, hybrid, or online courses within the School of Business, Technology, and Trades.

Responsibilities
  • Teach college‑level courses in administrative support, management, business communication, and related subjects.
  • Deliver instruction in‑person, hybrid, or online, including computer applications that lead to MOS 2019 credentials and general office skills.
  • Develop syllabi, exams, learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments for courses.
  • Maintain current knowledge of teaching disciplines and community college education trends.
  • Participate in departmental communication and meet deadlines for course materials.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned or assist the agency during emergencies declared by the Governor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in administrative support, management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in administrative support, management, business administration, business education, or information systems technology.
  • Two years of related occupational experience in business, management, or administrative support.
  • Proficiency with MS Office 2019/365 and Windows 10.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to write syllabi and exams, develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
  • Experience teaching in a college setting, especially a community college.
  • Experience teaching online and using technology in the classroom.
  • Office management experience and MOS certifications from 2010 or later are desirable.
Requirements
  • Background check including fingerprint, employment verification, education verification, credit checks, and other checks requested by VCCS.
  • Compliance with the Commonwealth’s Statement of Economic Interest.
  • Part‑time schedule on a course‑by‑course, semester basis.
  • No travel required; no operation of a state vehicle.
