How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

The Manager, Quality provides leadership and oversight for enterprise quality improvement initiatives and performance measurement programs that support organizational strategic goals, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and value-based care objectives. The role is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating quality improvement initiatives that enhance clinical, operational, and patient experience outcomes. Working collaboratively with organizational leaders, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams, the Quality Manager establishes quality improvement priorities, develops project plans, monitors performance metrics, and facilitates sustainable process improvement efforts using evidence-based methodologies.

The position is accountable for leading assigned staff, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and driving measurable improvements through data analysis, project management, and performance optimization. The Quality Manager maintains accountability for human resource management, operational oversight, financial stewardship, and continuous quality improvement activities. This position serves as a visible leader throughout the organization and promotes a culture of safety, quality, and service excellence.

What

We Require:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree healthcare administration management or a healthcare related field required or equivalent 8 years of related experience. Master's degree preferred

Experience:

Five (5) years of progressive healthcare experience in quality improvement, patient safety, performance improvement, project management, healthcare operations, or a related field. Experience leading interdisciplinary teams and managing complex organizational initiatives. Experience analyzing healthcare data and translating findings into actionable improvement strategies.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:
Certification(s) in healthcare quality, process improvement and project management strongly desired

Minimum Qualifications:

Proven track record of collaborative execution demonstrating the development of and sustainment of excellent cross-functional relationships at multiple levels across a large organization Must possess a proven record of building trust with stakeholders and an excellent communication style that is highly articulate, making written and verbal arguments in a compelling manner. Experience with driving results through translation of the overall objectives of the organization into actionable, quantitative plans with a demonstrated ability to successfully overcome obstacles to delivery.

Strong analytical skills to assist leadership in learning new ways to manage outcomes using evidence-based techniques. Strong communication skills and ability to translate program messaging dependent upon the audience. Strong presentation skills to formulate and present opportunities, timelines, and expected outcomes Advanced leadership, planning and organizational skills to direct the successful completion of initiatives and achievement of fiscal goals. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication abilities to support and promote a respectful, inclusive culture of service excellence.

Proven skills in clinical, operational and human resource management, including staffing, planning, performance management, teamwork and process improvement. Statistical analysis and fiscal management skills. Must satisfactorily complete orientation processes for Carilion Clinic and for Director, Quality and Patient Safety position. Must display positive leadership skills, interpersonal & oral communication skills, and written communication skills. Must work well with all members of the Community hospital teams, including employees, managers, administrators and physicians.
