Director, Full Stack Engineering – Delivery Team Lead
The Fidelity Insurance Group (FIG) Technology team is a small, growing team in Enterprise Services with a Start Up feel. We are seeking an experienced technology leader to define and implement the engineering and architecture vision for our platforms and deliver innovative solutions that meet functional, performance, scalability, and reliability requirements. The role will directly lead multiple agile teams, mentor future technical leaders, and ensure engineering excellence across platforms and applications.
This role requires multi‑functional collaboration, applying critical thinking, hands‑on technical expertise, and the ability to influence technology strategy to enable business value.
- Define and execute technology vision in partnership with architecture, engineering, and product leadership.
- Align product roadmaps with technology‑focused initiatives and ensure platform stability and modernization.
- Develop plans for lifecycle management and adoption of new technologies.
- Provide technical leadership for complex, large‑scale web applications and enterprise solutions.
- Drive architecture design, integration strategies, and cloud‑native development on platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Ensure alignment to guidelines for application, web architecture, security, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Mentor agile teams, including developers, testers, and analysts, encouraging strong engineering rigor.
- Serve as an authority on technical standards and solutions.
- Maintain focus on strong engineering excellence and advocate for developer experience improvements.
- Contribute to solution design and development activities, including responsive UI and microservices architecture.
- Develop engineering guidelines and ensure alignment with industry trends and organizational standards.
- Lead strategic projects spanning multiple business units and product teams with a focus on incremental value delivery.
- 10+ years of progressive technology experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Proven track record in software delivery through all phases of development and architecture leadership.
- Experience in designing, implementing, or maintaining systems that support Term Life Insurance operations such as policy administration, underwriting and claims processing (preferred).
- Experience leading full stack teams with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, JavaScript/Type Script, NodeJS (or similar) and microservices architecture.
- Experience developing cloud‑native applications on Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, including App Services, Functions, Kubernetes/EKS, and Postgre
SQL integration. - Working knowledge in all aspects of solution architecture (infrastructure/network topology, application architecture, security, reliability, performance, cost optimization).
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, Dev Sec Ops , CI/CD automation, and engineering guidelines (Jenkins Core and Git Ops or equivalent experience preferred).
- Demonstrated experience enabling scalability, availability, intelligent monitoring, and performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills with proven track record to hire, develop, and motivate high‑performing teams.
- Strong problem‑solving, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Recent experience as a full‑time people manager (required).
