Senior Data Engineer (Hybrid, Dallas, TX area) W2 Only

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science & Analytics, or related field
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data engineering roles
• Expertise in SQL, particularly with relational databases like Postgres and Oracle
• Proven experience designing and working with event‑driven architectures, including AWS SQS, Apache Kafka, and ActiveMQ
• Strong proficiency in cloud technologies such as AWS Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, and API Gateway
• Familiarity with ETL tools, preferably Informatica, and infrastructure as code using Terraform or Cloud Formation
• Solid coding skills in Python, with familiarity in backend languages like Node.js or Java
• Experience supporting insurance policy administration systems (beneficial but not required)
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams

Nice to Have

Skills:

• Experience with microservices and RESTful API design
• Knowledge of AWS Event Bridge, message routing, retries, error handling, and durability
• Hands‑on experience with serverless environments and automation tools
• Domain knowledge of insurance operations such as underwriting, policy administration, or claims processing

Preferred

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant technical fields
• 5+ years proven success in data engineering–preferably within finance, insurance, or related industries
